What is Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals?

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is grants permission to select undocumented individuals who entered the United States as children to qualify for deferred action for two years. This new type of reform does not guarantee an individual a green card of citizenship in th U.S. as was proposed in the original " Dream Act." This reform allows the individuals who are qualified yound adults to receive authorization to work,  a social security number, as well as a driver's license. June 15, 2012 marked the announcement of the Act, and on Auguest 15, 2012 it went into effect.

About Comprehensive Immigration Reform

The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act is referred to as C.I.R has the ability to significantly change the immigration system. Once passed, the C.I. R.would affect visa ability, detention reform, criminal alien removal, and even border control and security. The C.I.R's main point has to do with the legalization of undocumented immigrants. This reform has the power to create a different immigration status for illegal immigrants. In due time, the status provided would lead to a green card. As of now, the act has yet to pass.
